About

Hi! I’m Amelia Gapin! 👋

I’m a thirty-something woman living in Jersey City by night and working in New York City by day. I’m a software engineer at Bitly and have previously written code at Tumblr and Kronos. I am also the former co-founder of MyTransHealth.

When I’m not writing code, I’m likely either running or thinking about running. I am absolutely in love with the marathon and spend more of the year in marathon training mode than not.

In 2016, I was on the cover of Women’s Running Magazine. It was the one of the most surreal experiences of my life, but I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Some other things about me… I am a mom to four cats and zero humans, I consider myself to be a bit of bagel snob and am essentially a carbotarian, I’m a Disney World Annual Pass holder, and I’m a vocal feminist.

Most of what I write about here is related to being transgender, running, or an intersection of the two.
