While last week is the first official week of training for Erie since I just got into the race last weekend, I’m calling it week three since I was already training and, working backwards from race day, I’m on week three of my training plan.
Last week was actually a decent week of training. The schedule called for six days of running, but I knew I wasn’t quite ready for that yet so cut out Monday’s five miler. On the very plus side, though, I was able to get some speedwork back into my training. Some fartleks on Thursday and some hill sprints on Saturday. Sunday’s long run felt really good, I felt strong. It was a little on the slow side, but I’m not too worried about that right now.
This week is going to be a really, really busy week. I’ve got a friend visiting from out of town and we’ll be hitting up Philly and NYC and then driving up to Boston for the end of the week. My running schedule is a repeat of last week, but I’m going to try my best to stay focused and knock out my runs before we head out each day.
